Can You Laugh at Yourself?
Marc Maron asked the question “Have you ever had one of those moments when you look up and realize that you’re one of those people you see on the train talking to themselves?”
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the stress of life, and back yourself into a strange little corner in which you seem to be the only person who exists — or at least the only person who exists with this many thoughts in their head, rushing and pushing and jostling for space. And then…you might start talking to yourself on the train.
But that’s OK. It is OK to be so absorbed in the chaos of your life that you start mumbling incomprehensible monologues to yourself in public. Notice it, and let yourself be that person who laughs at himself on the train too.
